Cinder Wars: Kingslayer
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Android
The empire of Recyam is in turmoil - the High King and his Holy Order do whatever they want and the people are suffering under their strict regime. Until one day, a simple adventurer named Valery discovers that she possesses a strange power that could finally change the fate of the world...or doom it for all eternity.
Follow Valery and her "friends" through a world filled with adventures and deep lore, hunt for powerful artifacts and just enjoy the up to 20 hours of classical RPG gameplay - if you're willing to aim for the best of the 5 endings provided. You might even get a cookie if you do!
Features at a glance:
- A big world with a lot of places to explore
- Quirky "allies" who you can deepen your relationship with
- 5 different endings depending on some key choices
- 10 big and 4 smaller dungeons with tons of different creatures
- A myriad of skills and loads of equipment - including special artifacts
- Dozens of NPCs who will deepen your knowledge about the world
- There's even some crafting! Who doesn't love crafting??
For all of those who need a bit of help - the game files should contain a useful little textfile called "TheGodscroll" that has all of the quests, artifacts, legendary bosses and endings explained. It also contains a code for the chest in Valerys home - if you enter it, you will receive the Secret Shop Caller item to get all kinds of useful stuff (some would call it "cheat items") for free. Be careful though, using some of these items improperly will cause the game to break!
Also, just as a precaution, make constant saves in different slots. There shouldn't be any major issues and the autosave can help a lot, but softlocks are always a possibility.
This game was made in RPG Maker MZ and just kinda "happened" while I was playing around with all the new features and assets of this version. Around 220 hours later, the game was done and deemed "good enough" to be released to the public. As you can see, it's not quite version 1.0 yet because I feel like some more testing by other people is necessary to really make it shine. I'm just one single person after all.
Unfortunately, I'm not a designer (as you can also clearly see from the download page) so some of the places might not look all that great, but...just bear with it. My talent is writing stories, not designing worlds. The universe this game plays in definitely has the potential for a lot more of these kinds of games. I would love to make a second part of this series and I even have an older game (that I've never quite finished) that plays a few hundred years before this game. I could dig it up and try to make a full game out of it. Maybe.
Just to make sure no one sues me (even though I've paid a lot of money for these damn files) I'm gonna list all the addons I've used to create the game:
- RPG Maker MZ - 3D Particle Effect Pack
- RPG Maker MZ - Winlu Fantasy Tileset
- RPG Maker MZ - Creepy Land Tileset Pack (Plus)
- RPG Maker MZ - Fantasy Battler Pack 1
- RPG Maker MZ - KR Horror Kit
- RPG Maker MZ - Magic Shop Animated Interior Pack
- RPG Maker MZ - Nemo's Desert Battlers Pack 1
- RPG Maker MZ - Odyssey of Fantasy: Enemy Pack
- RPG Maker MZ - Cursed Kingdoms Monster Pack
- RPG Maker MZ - Muse Fantasia Battle Music Vol. 1
- RPG Maker MZ - Classic Fantasy Music Pack Vol 2
- RPG Maker MZ - Fantasy RPG BGM Back - The Forest Land Edition

Install instructions
Just unpack the .zip file and run the Game.exe.
For the "Web" download, that one I didn't test out, just used the built-in function of RPG Maker to deploy a package that's supposed to work on Android, iOS and other platforms (works as a HTML5 game in the browser of your choice I think). Might need some work to get it to run on your machine, but that's your problem. It's a free game, I don't have that much time to fix all issues, sorry :)

Damn, the true ending is totally something that makes me jump out of the chair for 20 hours long trying to solve puzzles and collect stuff.
